Supporting Care Coordination for Women with Opioid Use Disorder

The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Office of Women’s Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health awarded Mathematica a contract to support the development of a toolkit to improve the delivery of coordinated care to women with opioid use disorder (OUD) who receive care in HRSA-funded service settings that include Ryan White clinics, Rural Health clinics, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and Title V service sites.
To support this work, Mathematica will (1) conduct a literature review to identify model care coordination components and practices for women with OUD, (2) convene three regional expert work groups (ERW) to identify the latest insights from the field on delivering coordinated care to women with OUD, (3) submit a report that includes recommendations of critical elements of care coordination, and (4) develop the implementation toolkit. The toolkit will support HRSA providers and administrators as they implement the key components of care coordination for women with OUD.
